Temple Reparation Offering 30 October 2017
“But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the Lord. Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.”
2 Kings 12:14-15 KJV
THE FAITHFUL ANOINTED WORKMEN & THE TEMPLE REPARATION OFFERING
In this account of king Jehu Jehoash, Jehoiada the priest was commissioned by the king to repair the temple of God. The repairs were not allocated money for sacred items and utensils, rather, it was allocated as craftsman money and was entrusted to the workers of the repairs. This is significant because the scriptures tell us that the workers were not required to give an account of the money because they were diligent and faithful in its expenditure. The reason for this Faithfulness was because the priests were anointed by God, chosen by the King and imparted a certain degree of integrity that proved to be above normal. This is true when we step out to make a vow to pay something of value to God, whether it be of money, of our time, of our resources or anything at all. What occurs, is simply, we begin to come under the guidance and direction of the leading of the Holy Spirit of God. We ought to have confidence and gain strength when we purpose to give, serve or obey God. Just knowing that we have the Faithfulness of Almighty God, will open doors of opportunity where we can accomplish great and wonderful things that give glory to God, and make us established and steadfast in the faith.
