The Rich & Poor, The Lender & Borrower           30 October 2017

“The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7

THE RELATIONSHIP OF GOD WITH THOSE WHO SERVE HIM, HE IS WELL PLEASED IN THEIR WELL BEING

The LORD God has made the wealthy to be as a lord over the poor. An example of this is a landlord and tenant relationship. The tenant must give an account of their possession to a landlord. In much the same way we ought to give an account to God of all that we do in the body. It is true that those who possess more resources can provide for those less fortunate than themselves. However, very seldom may someone who is less fortunate able to provide for someone who has great possessions. So, we learn that true prosperity is where we look to the well being of those who would otherwise serve us, as in someone who would serve a landlord as a tenant. Ultimately, this is a two way street where the one who has great possessions provides opportunities for someone who possesses little substance, and someone who is a tenant pays the mortgage of someone who is a landlord. Well, whether we are rich or weather we are poor, we all serve someone as if unto God Himself. The idea is that someone who is a borrower will serve the lender. And if you are a lender, you must serve God, Who is the source of all Provision and substance in creation.
